Supplies and Goodbyes

Well, Jon officially left this afternoon. We spent the morning taking some more pictures (we've decided that good photos of all the blocks needs to happen before the season ends, so I'll be spending the first few hours each morning from here on out frantically trying to photograph the blocks before they go on the benches) and going over our drawings one final time (he took them all back to Chicago with him). After breakfast, we visited a pile of small blocks that we'd been ignoring. These blocks are just small bits and pieces that were found scattered among the block yard. They literally are no more than a foot or a small sign, but they needed to be looked through the decide what we're keeping and what we're tossing. Well, we kept 41 of them. I know. Just what I need, right? We came thinking there were 122 and now we're at 350. And of course, our iPad is not a fan of the over 100 degree temps we've been having again, so I fought with it most of the afternoon after Jon left. Grrr.

I mentioned that some of our supplies have arrived and here's proof!

Still no bricks, but they are almost done laying the foundations of the benches. I totally forgot to get a photo (see above mention of iPad frustrations), but Bob and Debbie, Anne, and Phil and Addie, you guys gave enough to each have your own bench foundation! What you gave covered at least the concrete (and for some of you, the gravel and sand) of an entire 15m long x 1m wide bench each. I told you every little bit helps. I'll try to snag a photo tomorrow.

UPDATE: Some of today's post had to be removed and cannot be discussed. Sorry.
