Not too much to say today. Jonathan leaves tomorrow, so we are frantically trying to finish up lots of last-minute things. We've only got 1 more block to draw and then we'll be done with all of the Saite blocks with drawings, photos, and database entry. Not counting the little bit we'll be able to get done tomorrow morning before he leaves, here are our stats of the block yard thus far:
Blocks in the database: 309 (though this number seems to increase daily, and probably will tomorrow when we go through our pile of tiny pieces of blocks, deciding what is important enough to go in the database)
Blocks with good, "professional" photos (pro is in quotes because while we tried to do our best and level the blocks, put a scale on them, and get them in good, raking light, we still aren't professionals and there was no level on the camera, so they aren't perfect): 87
Blocks that have been drawn: 33
Blocks that are fully recorded in the database: about 52
I know these numbers aren't staggering, but considering we did this in a grand total of about 16 working days, I think it's pretty darn good! After he leaves, I'll pretty much stop, so these numbers won't increase dramatically over the next month, but at the rate we went this year, I think it's extremely possible that we could get everything finished up next season if we're both able to work on it for the entire 2 month season.
In other news, some of the materials for the benches arrived today. We've got about 200 bags of cement, a truck-load of sand and a truck-load of gravel sitting on site now. I'm assuming we'll get bricks soon. Stay tuned!
